Safeguarding Adults at Risk

What the course covers:

  • Outline the systems which protect adults
  • Understand and recognise the different types of abuse
  • Demonstrate awareness of what constitutes potential safeguards
  • Understand the importance of the support worker role in safeguarding adults
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the recording and reporting of safeguarding concerns including incident reports
  • Recognise ways to reduce the likelihood of abuse
  • Outline the importance of child safeguarding
  • Understand the PREVENT strategy

How this course can be completed:

  • Classroom: this course can be completed as a half-day course in a classroom environment, which lasts approximately 3 learning hours. Often a more time and cost-effective way of completing this is to follow it up with our Mental Capacity Act & Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) course, which also lasts approximately 2.5 learning hours.
  • Webinar: this course can be completed as part of our Safeguarding People at Risk and Mental Capacity Act & DoLS webinar, which lasts approximately 3 learning hours.
  • E-Learning: this course can be completed on our online learning platform, Bridge. We estimate the e-learning course should take no longer than 2 hours to complete.
