What the course covers:
- Develop knowledge of the nature and characteristics of individuals with learning disability
- Understand the historical context of individuals with a learning disability
- Describe which legislation guides our approach when supporting individual with learning disability
- Understand STOMP and hate and mate crime
- Outline the different types of advocacy
- Know how to promote communication methods
How this course can be completed:
- Classroom: this course can be completed as a half-day course in a classroom environment, which lasts approximately 2.5 learning hours.
- E-Learning: our e-learning course, Supporting People with a Learning Disability, can be completed within 2 hours.
